The sketch is identified in later archives as the MUFON sketch showing the side view of the encounter, credited to MUFON / Connelly.
What the side-view drawing depicts
It shows the object in profile, hovering extremely close to the ground.
The important characteristics are:
Mushroom-shaped overall form
A broad, rounded/domed upper section
A narrower lower "stem" or central body
The object is shown essentially upright and level
It is positioned only about 2 feet above the ground
The drawing places it in the tree/grove area where Ronald said he encountered it
The proportions are roughly 9 feet across and 10 feet tall according to the reported description.
So it isn't really the classic flat-bottomed flying saucer shape. The lower portion is relatively narrow, producing the distinctive "flying mushroom" appearance.
