Description

This documentary examines one of the most thoroughly documented law enforcement UAP cases in North America. During the early morning hours of August 27, 1979, Marshall County Deputy Sheriff Val Johnson encountered an intense unidentified light while patrolling a rural highway near Stephen, Minnesota. Moments later, he lost consciousness. When he awoke, his patrol vehicle had sustained significant damage, his wristwatch and dashboard clock had stopped for approximately fourteen minutes, and he was suffering from temporary eye irritation and vision problems.

The program explores the official police investigation, vehicle examinations, medical findings, and scene photographs while presenting the principal theories proposed over the decades. Using contemporary records, interviews, and archival material, the documentary reviews why investigators were unable to identify a conventional explanation that accounted for all aspects of the incident.

More than four decades later, the Val Johnson Incident remains one of the best-known police UAP cases due to the combination of a credible law enforcement witness, documented physical evidence, and an official investigation that reached no definitive conclusion.
