Amilar Vieira Filho was a key witness in the Trindade Island UFO case of 16 January 1958, where he and retired Air Force Captain José Teobaldo Viegas alerted photographer Almiro Baraúna to a disc-shaped object sighted near the Brazilian naval ship Almirante Saldanha. Baraúna captured four photographs of the object, which proponents describe as a Saturn-like craft moving at high speed, while skeptics suggest the images may depict a seagull or weather balloon manipulated through film editing.
