The Coyne Helicopter Incident, occurring on October 18, 1973, is widely regarded as one of the most credible military UFO close encounters in history, involving Captain Lawrence J. Coyne and his U.

S. Army Reserve crew. While flying a UH-1H Huey from Columbus to Cleveland near Mansfield, Ohio, the crew encountered a large, cigar-shaped, metallic object that approached at high speed and halted directly above their aircraft.
