Civilian Witness

Liliane Fátima Silva, then 16 years old, was the central witness in the 1996 Varginha Incident, a famous UFO case in Brazil. On January 20, 1996, Liliane and her sister Valquíria, along with friend Kátia Andrade Xavier, encountered a bipedal creature in a vacant lot in Varginha, Minas Gerais.

Liliane described the entity as approximately 1.5 to 1.6 meters tall with oily brown skin, large red eyes, three horns on its head, and V-shaped feet. The witnesses reported a strong ammonia-like odor and claimed the creature appeared injured or unsteady. Liliane later told her mother she had seen "the devil," and the sighting sparked widespread rumors of a military cover-up involving the capture of extraterrestrials, although official Brazilian military investigations concluded the story was fictitious, attributing the creature to a local man with disabilities known as "Mudinho."
