Civilian Witness
Valquíria Silva, then 14 years old, was one of the three primary witnesses in the 1996 Varginha Incident in Brazil, alongside her sister Liliane Silva and friend Kátia Xavier. On January 20, 1996, the trio reported encountering a bipedal creature in a vacant lot in the Jardim Andere neighborhood, describing it as approximately 1.5 meters (5 feet) tall with oily brown skin, large red eyes, and three horn-like protuberances on its head.
Witnesses stated the entity appeared frightened, emitted a low grunting sound, and had a strong ammonia-like odor. While a 2010 Brazilian military investigation concluded the sighting was actually a mentally disabled local homeless man known as "Mudinho," Valquíria and the other witnesses have consistently denied this explanation, maintaining they saw a non-human entity. The case remains a prominent subject in ufology, with recent documentaries and conferences continuing to explore the allegations of a military cover-up and alleged extraterrestrial capture.
