On the evening of September 27, 1989, children were playing football in a park in Voronezh, then part of the Soviet Union. Reports place the sighting at around 6:30 p.m. The initial reports described a bright pink or reddish light that developed into a large spherical or disk-like object.
The children reportedly described the object as hovering and later landing in the park. According to the accounts subsequently reported by TASS, large humanoid figures emerged from the object, accompanied by a smaller robot-like figure. The beings were described as unusually tall, with very small heads; some accounts said one had three eyes.
One of the more extraordinary claims was that one of the beings pointed a device at a boy, causing him to disappear or become temporarily immobilized. The boy was reportedly restored before the object departed. Because this portion of the story comes from the witness accounts rather than independently established evidence, I'd keep that distinction very clear on your archive.
Who were the children?

Vasya (Vasily) Surin
Yevgeny (Genya) Blinov
