The original Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) report for the October 4, 1967, Shag Harbour incident documented a suspected aircraft crash off the coast of Nova Scotia. RCMP Corporal Werbicki took the initial emergency call from Laurie Wickens, who reported a large glowing object descending into the harbor.Upon arriving at the shore, responding RCMP officers (including Const. Ron Pound) and numerous local witnesses observed a cluster of four flashing lights floating about half a mile offshore. The lights soon vanished, leaving a yellowish foam on the water's surface. When a subsequent search and rescue operation by local fishermen, the Canadian Coast Guard, and Royal Canadian Navy divers found no plane wreckage, survivors, or debris, the official RCMP and military files were elevated.Because no conventional explanation was found, the Canadian government classified the event as an unexplained UFO, making it one of the most famous and well-documented cases in Canadian history.
