Veteran Eastern Air Lines captain who reported observing eight luminous disc-shaped objects during a scheduled commercial flight in 1952.
William B. Nash was a distinguished Pan American World Airways pilot and a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force during World War II, flying Boeing 314 Flying Boats and PB2Y patrol bombers. He is most notably recognized for the Nash-Fortenberry UFO sighting on July 14, 1952, where he and First Officer William H. Fortenberry reported observing eight luminous disc-shaped objects flying in formation over the Chesapeake Bay at speeds exceeding 1,000 miles per hour.
